How this works. West Virginia taxes property at its assessed value (60% of appraised value) times a levy rate set per $100 of assessed value. The rate combines the county-wide base levy with your municipality's levy if you're inside a town. Class II (owner-occupied) is taxed at half the Class III/IV rate; Class I is half of Class II. These are estimates from published levy rates — this dataset contains no billed-tax dollars, and excess/bond levies or other exemptions can change your real bill. Always verify with your county sheriff (tax office) and assessor.
